Java Developer (Big Data) Digital Consultancy
A Java Developer is required by one of the UK's leading Tech Services companies to join their rapidly expanding Digital Practice as part of the Open Source and Integration capability team. This will see you working on a number of Enterprise-level, Greenfield, development projects with the chance to work on a number of large scale transformation programmes, developing and delivering software solutions for a number of top-tier clients across London and the UK.

You will be given the opportunity to gain exposure to a fully updated Java 8 environment, heavily focused on Object Oriented Analysis and Design, working on some of the most cutting edge Digital / Cloud based architectures in development today.
This provides the ability to gain exposure and cross training to cutting-edge technologies such as microservices architecture, AWS, Scala, Docker, Kubernetes, JIRA.
Essential skills required:
Strong commercial experience of Java to include Java 8
Strong commercial experience in Big Data technologies – Hbase, Hadoop, Kafka, Spark
Deep understanding of the core XP practices of TDD, Pair Programming and Continuous Integration.
Demonstrable experience in one or more technology stacks – Spring (e.g. Core, MVC, Integration, Data, Boot/Cloud)
Experience of working in collaborative agile teams
You work best within a DevOps environment where you have good practical awareness of core concepts such as Continuous Delivery/Deployment using agile Configuration Management
Some experience with / enthusiasm for another JVM language (e.g. Scala, Groovy, JRuby)
This permanent position is paying up to £90,000 p.a., although all experience levels are welcome.
Working for a consultancy you will have access to some of the most high-profile and unique projects happening in the world today. Therefore, you will be required to be fully flexible in terms of mobility and may be required to travel to various client sites across the UK. Candidates that are Security Clearable or Security Cleared (ie DV Cleared or SC Cleared) will be given the highest priority.
